MQS was born in 1997, publicly documented in 2014, but with the core of the calculation confidential from the outset, and a qualified timestamp in February 2026. It anchors every review to real proof of experience, Proof of Stay for accommodation and Proof of Consumption for food service, collected at the moment it occurs. From there, the method classifies it against 29 years of field observation and assigns a millesimal score of verified merit, independently auditable by a third party. How the proof is collected and how the score is calculated remain confidential, as with any independent verification method; what the guest, the business and the auditor see is the verified result.
The same verification architecture extends, by design, to any sector where public judgment relies on online reviews.
Beyond verifying authenticity, MQS is also built to counter the coercive use of reviews: the blackmail through fake negative ratings, the threat used as leverage, the serial manipulator. These behaviours are identified and neutralised by design, with the final decision always human.

Come viene raccolta la prova e come viene calcolato il punteggio restano riservati, come per qualunque metodo di verifica indipendente; ciò che il cliente, l'attività e l'ente di controllo vedono è il risultato verificato.
La stessa architettura di verifica si estende, per costruzione, a qualsiasi settore in cui il giudizio pubblico si basa su recensioni online.
Oltre a verificare l'autenticità, MQS è costruito anche per contrastare l'uso coercitivo delle recensioni: il ricatto tramite finte valutazioni negative, la minaccia usata come leva, il manipolatore seriale. Comportamenti individuati e neutralizzati per costruzione, con la decisione finale sempre umana.
The millesimal score doesn't replace existing classifications, hotel stars, industry standards, quality certifications: it sits alongside them, making them comparable for the first time on an objective, verified basis.
Hotel classifications today differ from one region and one country to the next, so that the same rating means different things in different places. On a single verified scale, MQS makes it possible to bring these uneven classifications back into order and to read them against one another.

The point is not only technical. Today the information wealth around reviews sits with intermediary platforms. Returning it to those who generate it opens a prospect of scale: hundreds of millions of businesses reviewed worldwide have an interest in knowing how their score is formed, and how to improve it. At the same time, the European regulatory framework is pushing platforms toward independent verification standards. It is the ground on which a method already aligned with EU principles can become the common reference.
The verification architecture is the same for every sector with online reviews. The deepest empirical calibration today concerns hospitality and food service, where 29 years of measurement have weighted every element of judgment; the same logic extends to the other categories, calibrated to their specifics.

Over 50 years in hospitality and F&B, from entry-level roles to General Manager of international hotel and cruise chains, across four continents. In 1997 that experience became a method, developed, tested and refined on three of those continents, observing thousands of daily guest presences, through direct exposure to how public judgment on a property or venue forms, and how it gets distorted. Formalized in writing in 2014, with a qualified timestamp added in February 2026.
Each review is not given a single, generic judgment: the method breaks it down element by element, scoring separately every aspect it describes, the welcome, the cleanliness, the breakfast, the comfort of the bed. The same review can therefore carry values of opposite sign at once, "the bed was comfortable but breakfast was poor" produces a positive score and a negative one, not an average that cancels them out. The engine that assigns these values stays confidential, like the core of any independent verification method.

Ogni recensione non riceve un giudizio unico e generico: il metodo la scompone elemento per elemento, valutando separatamente ogni aspetto che descrive, l'accoglienza, la pulizia, la colazione, il comfort del letto. Nella stessa recensione possono così convivere valori di segno opposto, "il letto era comodo ma la colazione era povera" genera un punteggio positivo e uno negativo, non una media che li annulla. Il motore che assegna questi valori resta riservato, come il nucleo di qualunque metodo di verifica indipendente.
The weight of each element of a review, how much a warm welcome counts and how much a neglected room weighs, was not decided at a desk. It derives from 120,000 direct customer interviews and over fifty years of field observation. It is a value stable over time: what annoys or satisfies a customer today matches what already emerged from the paper reviews of the 1970s. This is why the method does not chase the algorithm of the moment, but rests on constants of human judgment, measured one by one.

MQS did not chase the regulations. It was born decades before they appeared, in 1997, and had already put into practice what the European directives would ask for only years later. Where others adapt to the norm after the fact, MQS anticipated it.

Italian law establishes that one may review only after actually using the service, and points to proof of purchase as the guarantee of authenticity. But that proof, the receipt, is left on the counter, forgotten on the table, dropped in the bin. The law sets the principle, not the way to make it verifiable over time. MQS fills exactly this space too: it anchors the proof of experience at the source, the moment it happens, and makes it available permanently and independently. Not a slip of paper that gets lost, but a structural verification.

The method already recognizes almost all recurring assessments. For some time no negative or positive element has emerged on the web that it has not already classified, but anything can happen: reviews appear today that did not exist in 1997, nor in 2020 or 2024. When a new case emerges, the system does not decide on its own. It flags it, proposes a preliminary assessment by analogy, and leaves the final decision to a person. It is the model the AI Act requires, foreseen in the method from its very conception.
